The .357 Magnum is a stellar defense round seeing service with the FBI and countless other LEOs for decades. In kind, Sig-Sauer's .357 Sig set about replicating the round for a semi-auto by necking down the .40 S&W cartridge. Unfortunately their lofty goal was never quite achieved.
